Lulu
Lulu is a wisp of a whimsical little figure, a free-spirit encouraging us to live life to the fullest and find the magic in the ordinary.
She speaks for women everywhere, teaching us to play more, follow our hearts and find our own unique voice.
She brings love and healing and boundless energy, she invites us to run with her through life's adventures.
Face your fears, Lulu

Lulu speaks her heart voice mainly in the form of mixed media work, layer upon layer of sentiment and personal meaning.
Some are lighthearted, stripey-stockinged watercolour figures in auto-biographical actions: climbing trees, loving life in general, with themes of castles, churches and music, whimsical birds and added layers of stamped patterns.
In the canvas works Lulu is little more serious and contemplative, her philosophic side peeping through in more sophisticated portraits.
I use old papers from my childhood: dressmaking patterns and fabric transfer papers from which my mom used to make clothes for us as little girls, original old music transcripts from my many years of music studies, often yellowed by age and crumpled by use, pretty found papers from any possible source- used gifts wraps and patterned packaging bags, old hand-made marbled book covers from my school days. This is overlaid with embossed textures, patterns printed with hand-carved wooden stamp blocks bought on the dusty streets of India, home-made rubber stamps and here and there a shop-bought vinyl stamp, all rounded off with some distressing techniques.
